Matt Roloff has made no secret about enjoying getting away from Roloff Farms from time to time.
The Little People, Big World star and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, shared a few glimpses of their road trip to Arizona, where Matt owns a vacation home.
The timing of their trip is a little interesting — because they left right in time to completely miss Amy Roloff’s birthday.
Matt shared a friendly photo of him and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler to Instagram.
“Out n about in Surprise Arizona,” Matt writes in the caption. “Happy Friday everyone!”
As we previously reported, Matt Roloff purchased a home in Surprise, Arizona — buying it from Caryn’s parents.
He then went on to make a show of househunting on camera, which some fans found deceptive. Others accepted that it’s just part of the reality business.
This house is just a vacation home, however. Matt’s permanent home is still at the farm in Oregon.
Matt also treated his fans and followers to a gorgeous shot of the Grand Canyon.
“Heading out of Dodge for a quick getaway with [Caryn Chandler],” Matt wrote. “Goodbye rainy Portland … hello Grand Canyon!”
Matt also shared another photo of him standing beside a nearly life-sized Dia de los Muertos decoration.
“Out shopping for some home Knick knacks,” Matt wrote in the captions.
“I thought this was a ‘must have,'” Matt shared. “Caryn just stared at me.”
Fans were delighted to see that Matt is getting away from Roloff Farms for a while and spending time with Caryn.
“Yes!!” commented one fan. “Glad you got a break before pumpkin season!!”
Roloff Farms are famous for their pumpkins and for pumpkin-related products, including Amy’s pumpkin salsa.
“Karen is so lovely…” wrote another fan who seemed to have trouble spelling Caryn’s name, adding that she “seems like a great lady! Glad to see you happy Matt!!!”
“You seem so happy I’m so glad for you,” gushed another follower.
Monday, September 17 was Amy Roloff’s birthday, but she and boyfriend Chris Marek wasted no time and celebrated early over the weekend.
“My birthday month keeps being wonderful,” Amy gushed under this sweet photo.
“Another ‘Date’ night w/ this awesome guy,” she wrote, referring to Chris.
“Went to one of our favorite restaurants, Thai food, downtown Hillsboro and then a local play,” Amy said. “Life is good!”
Some fans could not help but wonder if Matt and Caryn’s Arizona getaway had less to do with rain or pumpkin season and more to do with avoiding Amy’s birthday celebrations.
Matt and Amy Roloff have moved on, but some Little People, Big World fans seem unable to accept that.
Some trolls have targeted Caryn and Chris, accusing them of being golddiggers or fame-seekers.
Some of these jabs are the result of people who want Amy and Matt to get back together.
Unfortunately, some of the jabs come from people who can’t wrap their heads around able-bodied people dating little people without an agenda. That is unhealthy, bigoted thinking.
Real fans should be happy for Matt and Amy for finding happiness in their new relationships. It is normal for families to change over time.
