Chris Brown‘s Parisian lawyer has made good on his promise … he just filed a defamation lawsuit against the woman who got his client arrested on rape allegations.
The lawyer, Raphael Chiche, filed the complaint Thursday … titled “false accusation, committed on January 18, 2019.” It appears this is more than a civil defamation case … according to the doc obtained by TMZ, the lawyer is citing a criminal statute relating to invasion of privacy. A violation of that law carries a maximum 1-year prison sentence.
As we reported, Brown was freed by cops Tuesday, hours after he was arrested. Sources tell us the Paris police had issues with the accuser’s story — that she was raped and abused in 3 separate rooms by 3 people in Brown’s hotel suite, with around 20 people in the living room.
A source close to Chris tells TMZ, he acknowledges he’s had “issues in the past,” but feels he’s become “an easy target for anyone to cry wolf.”
Although Brown is free and still working in Paris on his music video, we’re told the investigation is ongoing.
Depp filed the docs in the U.K., where he’s suing The Sun for defamation in connection with an article calling him “wife-beater.” The article referenced an altercation between Depp and Heard on May 21, 2016 at their downtown L.A. home. Amber says he threw a phone at her face and then pummeled her and she took photos of her injuries.
Depp’s new documents include witness statements, saying they saw Amber in the apartment building on May 21 and saw no red marks or bruising on her face. One witness says she didn’t see the mark until 6 days later.
Amber also took photos of broken glass in the apartment, claiming Johnny hurled glass and shattered it in the unit. One of the witnesses states in his declaration, “There was no smashed glass that I noticed in the apartment at the time.”
Amber has adamantly stuck by her version of events, and Johnny has implied she injured herself after the fact and took pictures.
He also cites in the documents 2 cops who responded on May 21 and gave 2 depositions stating they saw no injuries on Amber. The cops claim Amber said nothing had happened.
Again, the new filings were in connection with his defamation lawsuit against The Sun. Depp says “They must have made a positive decision to present a totally one-sided picture, leaving out my side of the story and pretending it either did not exist or was not worth considering.”
Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders is calling it quits on his marriage … we’ve learned he just filed for divorce from his wife.
Matt filed docs Wednesday to divorce his wife Breana McDow Helders, after just over two years of marriage. The couple got hitched in Italy back in June 2016. They have a 3-year-old daughter together. It’s unclear what led to the split.
Matthew is one of the founding members of the indie rock band, and he’s recorded six studio albums with the Arctic Monkeys.
The explosive fight between “90 Day Fiance” stars Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima led to bloody faces for both and her being arrested, then he capped it off by calling it quits on their marriage … TMZ has learned.
According to court docs … Colt filed for divorce from Larissa Friday in Nevada, just hours after she was arrested for domestic battery. The volatile couple wed just seven months ago … and it was her third arrest on domestic violence charges.
Colt’s mom reportedly paid the divorce filing fee.
As we reported … cops responded to a call from Larissa Thursday night after the 2 had a fight, and determined scratches she had on her stomach appeared to be self-inflicted. After talking to both of them, they decided to arrest her based on the evidence and her history.
She was held on a $ 3,000 bond.
The arrest followed Larissa and a ’90 Day Fiance’ blogger sharing a series of disturbing videos and posts early Friday chronicling the couple’s bizarre night … which allegedly stemmed from an argument when she discovered Colt had purchased porn.
UFC superstar Holly Holm has filed for divorce from her husband, TMZ Sports has learned.
Holm filed court docs in Albuquerque seeking to end her marriage to Jeff Kirkpatrick … her college sweetheart at the University of New Mexico.
The two were married in Cancun back in 2012 after dating for years. But ultimately, Holm decided it wasn’t working and filed for divorce, citing “incompatibility because of discord and conflict of personalities.”
According to the court docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, Holm says the two separated in March 2018 and no longer live as husband and wife.
The signs were on social media — she hadn’t posted a photo of Jeff since Feb. 2018.
Holly — whose legal name is Holly Holm-Kirkpatrick — has asked the judge to restore her maiden name, “Holly Holm.”
The two have no children together — so child support won’t be an issue. In her docs, Holly also says both of them are self-supporting and neither party should get spousal support.
In fact, Holm has a big fight on the horizon — she takes on Aspen Ladd at UFC 235 in March.
Holm shot to UFC superstardom back in 2015 when she shocked the world and beat a then-undefeated Rousey for the Women’s Bantamweight title.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has just gone to cops and filed a police report against Jen Harley, after she allegedly threw an ashtray at his head … TMZ has learned.
As we reported, Ronnie and Jen got into a big fight shortly after midnight at a Las Vegas New Year’s Eve party, and that’s where she allegedly hurled the ashtray in his direction, striking him in the nose area and breaking the skin. When Jen got home, she found someone had ransacked the place, smashing a flat-screen TV and a vase. They also destroyed pictures and glass frames.
She called the cops and claimed Ronnie was the culprit. Cops named Ronnie a person of interest.
As for Ronnie’s police report, we’re told his motivation is that he wants Jen to get professional help. He’s also worried about the safety of their 8-month-old child.
We’re told Ronnie took photos of his injuries and submitted them to cops. We’re also told cops took additional pics Thursday at the police station because the injuries were still visible.
The “Let it Burn” singer filed docs — obtained by TMZ — in Atlanta Friday to call it quits on the marriage. The move is anything but surprising … it was back in March — on the heels of several allegations and lawsuits claiming Usher spread herpes — the couple announced things were over.
In a joint statement, Usher and Grace said, “After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple. We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives.”
The two got hitched back in 2015 and did not have any children together.
Jenji Kohan, the creator of “Weeds,” “Orange is the New Black” and “Glow” is ending her marriage, and it sounds like an expensive proposition.
Kohan just filed for divorce against Christopher Noxon, citing irreconcilable differences.
Here’s the thing. They’ve been married for 20 years, before she became famous and super rich, so there’s no prenup. Translation — 50/50.
Kohan’s worth a fortune. She signed a deal with Netflix last year to create a number of shows.
Noxon, a writer, who’s repped by attorney Lisa Helfend Meyer, is asking for spousal support. Kohan, who’s repped by disso queen Laura Wasser, is asking to deny him support.
That sounds like a fight, but there are signs it’s actually amicable. Noxon filed his response to the divorce at the same time Kohan filed her docs. That’s a strong indication they’re working together and the divorce is actually amicable.
The former couple has 2 kids in high school and one in college.
Vincent LaRusso — best known for his role as star player Adam Banks in “The Mighty Ducks” — and his wife have filed for divorce.
Vincent married Kathryn Elizabeth Everard in 2015, and Thursday they filed docs to end things. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, the couple never had kids and they don’t list any community property.
Vincent starred in all 3 ‘Mighty Ducks’ movies … and you probably remember him as the Ducks’ best player, who transfers to the makeshift team from the rival Hawks, after Emilio Estevez‘s character discovers Adam’s home address falls inside the Ducks’ district boundaries.
Since his recurring role in the ‘Mighty Ducks’ trilogy, Vincent has appeared in a handful of TV shows and short films, plus the 2008 action-comedy, “Superhero Movie.”
As for Vincent’s marriage … it’s unclear what led to the split, and the couple says they have been separated since March.
