Team USA’s Nathan Adrian Diagnosed with Testicular Cancer Gunning For 2020 Games

Breaking News

Team USA swimmer Nathan Adrian has announced he’s battling testicular cancer … but the gold medalist says the diagnosis will not derail his plans to compete at the 2020 Olympics.

The 30-year-old — who was part of the 4×100 relay that won gold with Michael Phelps in 2008 — made the announcement on social media … saying he initially went to the doctor after “something didn’t feel right.”

After several tests, doctors discovered the disease and began treatment shortly after. Luckily for Adrian, he says the cancer was caught early and the prognosis is good … which means he’ll still be able to train for the Tokyo Olympics.

“I will be back in the water in a few short weeks with my sights fully set on Tokyo!” Adrian says.

“As I told my family, I’ll be putting my public health degree to work a little sooner than I planned! But in all seriousness, I am keeping a positive attitude as cases such as mine are curable.”

Adrian says he will have surgery next week … and will share his journey to bring light to men’s health issues.

T.J. Dillashaw Gunning for 3 UFC Belts … Champ Champ Champ?!

You’ve seen “champ champs” in the UFC — but never a “champ champ champ” … which is why T.J. Dillashaw wants to be the very first fighter to hold THREE belts at the same time!!!

The UFC’s reigning bantamweight champ is gearing up to fight Henry Cejudo on Jan. 19 at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ for the flyweight title … and if he wins that bout, T.J. says he’s got eyes on Max Holloway

Of course, Holloway is the reigning featherweight champ — so, if T.J. can get through Henry and Max he would be the first triple title holder in the history of the UFC.

Despite his big career goals, Dillashaw says he’s laser-focused on beating Henry first — and says he knows Cejudo is scared.

“He’s just praying that I don’t make weight,” T.J. told the guys at TMZ Sports … “He’s praying that I’m weak.”

Dillashaw says he believes he can be the greatest UFC fighter of all time — and can’t wait to prove it on the big stage.

There’s more … we asked T.J. for his favorite celebrity moment — and he’s got a GREAT story involving Shaquille O’Neal

Antonio Brown Gunning to Play for 49ers … Says Jerry Rice

Breaking News

Jerry Rice says he had a long talk with Antonio Brown about his NFL future — and the guy REALLY wants to play for the San Francisco 49ers.

“He wants to come here really bad,” Rice said on the “Joe, Lo & Dibs” show on 95.7 The Game.

“He’s talking about running the hills with me, doing all that and just working out … just picking my brain.”

Of course, A.B. is on his way outta Steel City after his recent antics led Steelers owner Art Rooney to say last week it’s “hard to envision” the WR coming back in 2019.

But, Rice says the Niners NEED to step in and trade for the wideout — guaranteeing Brown will behave — and flourish — if he’s given the opportunity in S.F.

“I would be looking forward to just passing some of that knowledge on to him and being around this guy because I know he’s a great individual.”

“If it was left up to me, he would be here in a heartbeat.”

Seems Jerry’s got a pretty strong finger on A.B.’s pulse — the two talk often … and Brown even has a painting of Rice up in his home gym.

And, per Jerry, Antonio’s a stand-up guy that would only make the Niners better.

“I don’t know what happened in Pittsburgh. But, I know that if this guy comes here to San Francisco, he’s going to do everything possible to help this team to win.”

Translation … get it done, Lynch!!!

MMA’s Kayla Harrison ‘Frenemies’ with Ronda Rousey … Gunning for Cyborg?

They were teammates and roommates … but now MMA rising star Kayla Harrison says she’s gunning to take Ronda Rousey‘s place as the greatest female fighter of all time.

“Ronda always used to call us ‘Frenemies,'” Harrison tells TMZ Sports … “I’ve always kinda had a chip on my shoulder. Like, anything Ronda could do, I could do better.”

“She’s always sorta been my motivation behind the scenes.”

Kayla trained with Ronda every day for 7 years back when they were coming up in the judo world together … but says they’re very different people.

Harrison won 2 gold medals in her Olympic judo career — one in 2012 and another in 2016. Now, the 28-year-old is focused on destroying people in MMA.

“I want to be the best fighter in the world. I want to go down in history as one of the most dominant female combat athletes there ever was.”

Kayla is 2-0 as a pro MMA fighter, and takes on Moriel Charneski at the PFL 2018 World Championship on New Year’s Eve at Madison Square Garden.

As for her next opponent, Kayla’s manager Ali Abdelaziz says he’s got his sights set on Cris Cyborg

Marquette King Gunning For Music Career … I Could Be Bigger Than Chris Brown!!!

Marquette King says his music career is about to take off … tellin’ TMZ Sports if he hadn’t been an amazing punter — he’d already be bigger than Chris Brown!!

The former Raiders and Broncos punter began making beats back in high school … but says tinkering with music on long flights during his NFL career made him a master musician.

So much so … Marquette says he feels like if he had picked music over punting a long time ago — he’d already be a superstar in the entertainment world.

“If I woulda started my music before I started my punting career, I woulda been Chris Brown. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, they wouldn’t even want to see me, dawg!”

King says his music style is more house or EDM — “something you’ll hear in Vegas” — but he tells us his vocals are “legendary” too.

Marquette is still lookin’ to get back into punting in 2019 — the guy says he still LOVES the art of it — but he tells us all about how he wouldn’t mind kickin’ it with Calvin Harris in the studio in the meantime!!!

Shaq Shareef Gunning for April Return … After Heart Surgery

Here’s some great news going into your holiday weekend … Shareef O’Neal could be back on the UCLA basketball court in 4 to 5 months!

… this according to his dad, Shaq

The Diesel was at the Magic Wheels Toy Giveaway in L.A. doing his Santa Shaq thing (awesome, btw) when he gave us the update on his son who underwent heart surgery on Dec. 13th.

As we previously reported, UCLA doctors detected an abnormality during a routine check up and advised O’Neal that a heart procedure was crucial.

Shaq told us Shareef is continuing to focus on his recovery and hopes to be back on the floor as early as April — which is fantastic news!

There’s more … Shaq also weighed in on Lil Wayne recently saying he thinks Kobe Bryant is better than Michael Jordan.

When we asked Shaq to pick his #1 — he went with someone else entirely … not Magic Johnson, not LeBron, not himself!

But the best part of this clip is the great work Shaq continues to do in the community — making sure every kid has a Merry Christmas!

Shaq has been doing toy drives for 26 YEARS — and you can tell from the video … he’s just as passionate about helping out now as he was when he started.
