NFL’s Takkarist McKinley Detained By Police … Mental Evaluation

EXCLUSIVE

Atlanta Falcons defensive end Takkarist McKinley was detained by police in L.A. on Tuesday and is undergoing a mental evaluation following an incident at a hotel … TMZ Sports has learned.

McKinley was with a friend at a high-end hotel around noon when something happened and the friend became concerned about McKinley’s well-being. We’re told the friend called police for help.

We’re told cops spoke with McKinley who agreed it was in his best interest to get help — and he cooperated and left with police. We’re told McKinley was NOT arrested or booked for any crime.

The 23-year-old was selected in the 1st round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of UCLA and had a solid rookie season for the Falcons — posting 20 tackles and 6 sacks.

McKinley famously brought a framed picture of his late grandmother to the stage at the NFL Draft and explained that he had made a promise to her on her deathbed that he would make it to the NFL.

NFL’s Devonta Freeman Beach Pimpin’ In Miami

Breaking News

Gotta love Miami Beach … Devonta Freeman sure does — because ya can’t walk 3 feet without bumpin’ into a smokin’ hot lady in a bikini!!!

The Atlanta Falcons running back was doing some conditioning drills on the beach when he stopped his workout to chat up a few pretty young things who caught his eye.

The 26-year-old superstar is a local — he was a stud at Miami Central High School back in the day before taking a full scholarship to Florida State.

In fact, dude rushed for 2,208 yards and 26 touchdowns as a high school senior — not too shabby, right?

Now, Freeman’s RICH — he signed a $ 41 million contract extension in 2017 … which is why he left the workout in a sick Rolls-Royce!!

See, missing the playoffs ain’t ALL bad.

NFL’s Reuben Foster Domestic Violence Charge Dropped

Breaking News

Reuben Foster is off the hook in his domestic violence case … again.

TMZ Sports has obtained a court document filed on Jan. 2 which shows the State Attorney’s Office in Florida has dismissed the misdemeanor charge against Foster stemming from a Nov. 24 incident with his ex-girlfriend.

Foster was scheduled to appear at an arraignment in Hillsborough County, FL on Thursday morning — but the hearing was canceled after the notice of termination of prosecution was filed.

Unclear why prosecutors decided to drop the case against the 24-year-old linebacker — we’ve got calls out to everyone.

As we previously reported … Foster was arrested back on Nov. 24 for allegedly roughing up his ex-GF, Elissa Ennis, at the 49ers’ team hotel in Tampa Bay.

Ennis said in an interview with “Good Morning America” on Dec. 6 the fight stemmed from her threatening to tell Foster’s new GF that he paid for her flight out to Florida.

In 911 audio obtained by TMZ Sports … Ennis says, “My ex-boyfriend just took my phone [and broke it] … slapped me in my face and threatened me.”

She later repeated, “He took my phone and broke it and slapped me in my face.”

Ennis said on ‘GMA’ that wasn’t the first time Foster had struck her … saying he had also roughed her up on two other separate occasions — one of which she says she lied about in court to protect the LB.

Foster had been arrested for domestic violence in Feb. 2018 and charged with several felonies for allegedly roughing up the same woman.

But, when Ennis went on the stand in that case, she told the judge she had concocted the story to get back at Foster as revenge for breaking up with her.

The judge dismissed the charges against Foster in that case.

Ennis later said she lied in court to protect Foster because she thought she loved him.

San Francisco cut Foster just hours after the incident in Tampa … but he was later claimed on waivers by the Redskins, who vowed the LB wouldn’t suit up for them until the legal process played out.

Warrick Dunn NFL’s Travis Scott Pick?? … Disappointing

EXCLUSIVE

Warrick Dunn says the NFL missed a huge opportunity by picking Travis Scott for its Super Bowl halftime show … saying it shoulda been an Atlanta artist instead.

The former Falcons RB tells TMZ Sports he’s got no issues with the “SICKO MODE” rapper … but says an ATL legend could have had a much bigger impact during the SB show.

“Atlanta has its own unique feel,” Dunn says.

Warrick tells us the plan from the start shoulda been to have Outkast be the headliner — with other ATL music legends like T.I. and Jermaine Dupri joining them on stage.

“You show them the flavor of the history of all the great music that was produced that helped propel young careers today.”

Dunn added that show could have “Showed America what really good music could be.”

As for Travis Scott … Dunn says he doesn’t blame the guy for accepting the NFL’s offer in the wake of the the Colin Kaepernick drama — saying it was a good business move for the rapper.

NFL’s Montae Nicholson Fight Video Shows Brutal Knockout Punch

EXCLUSIVE

10:48 AM PT — Redskins coach Jay Gruden says Nicholson will NOT play this weekend in their critical game against the Tennessee Titans.

Gruden says he’s aware of the TMZ Sports video and says he’ll take a look at it.

When asked if Nicholson would be benched for the rest of the season, Gruden said he hasn’t made up his mind yet.

He still has to speak with Montae personally.

TMZ Sports has obtained footage of Washington Redskins safety Montae Nicholson pummeling a man in the middle of a Virginia street around 2 AM Tuesday morning … and it’s violent.

Nicholson — wearing a red hoodie — is going after another man in a jean jacket while other people in the melee desperately try to restrain him.

But, Nicholson is too strong and too angry — and refused to back out … instead, he throws several punches at his target … including a knockout blow.

You can see in the video, the man in the jean jacket appears to go limp as Nicholson hits him clean in the face.

One witness tells us the other man in the red sweatshirt was trying to break up the fight — but Montae was in such a rage, he slammed that guy to the ground and continued the beating.

Loudoun County Sheriffs eventually responded to the scene and arrested both Montae and a female companion. Montae was booked for assault and battery, and drunk in public. He was hauled to a nearby jail and released on a $ 2,500 bond a short time later.

23-year-old Montae — 6’2″, 215 lbs — is a solid player for the Redskins who’s played in every game this season.

There are reports the fight began after a road rage incident where the victims pulled up in a vehicle and honked at Montae.

But, a witness tells us … the beef started BEFORE the car incident.

Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated for serious injuries.

We’ve reached out to Montae’s camp for comment. So far, no word back.

A rep for the Redskins tells us they are aware of the arrest and still gathering information.
