Jennifer Lopez Pretty (Long Ass Dress) in Pink … For New Movie Premiere

Jennifer Lopez was front and center for the world premiere of her new movie … and, eventually, the rest of her dress caught up with her.

J Lo showed out in an extravagant pink tulle high-low gown Wednesday night in NYC for the debut of her flick, “Second Act.” As you can tell, the outfit was over-the-top — with a loooong trail of fabric she had to be mindful of as she posed for pics.

That said, would you expect anything less from Jenny? She’s kinda famous for moments like this … just sayin’. And hey, the fashion choice paid off … folks were wowed.

As much room as Jen had out on the red carpet of the Regal Union Square Theatre to strut her stuff, she looked a bit cramped in the car with A-Rod on the way over … where the ruffles from the dress looked like a whole other person occupying the seat next to her.

Sometimes ya gotta sit tight to go out in style, we suppose.

The Connors Premiere: How They Killed Off Roseanne

In May of this year, Roseanne Barr's outspoken racism got her fired from her own show.

Fortunately, the rest of the cast, crew, and production team were saved when ABC confirmed a Roseanne spinoff, The Connors.

As you can see in this clip from The Connors premiere, they killed off Roseanne's character. Here's how:

The connors premiere screencap 01

On Tuesday, October 16, The Connors premiered.

There, viewers learned that Roseanne — the character — has died.

At first, the Connors simply believed that her cause of death had been a heart attack. That is the simplest way to kill off a character of her age.

She fell victim, writers and producers decided, to an opioid overdose.

As the family grieves, they remark on odd things that anyone who's lost an immediate family member has noted — like the custom of bringing food to those who are in mourning.

(Note that while Roseanne may have died, that cringey laugh track remains)

Roseanne flips out

Obviously, no actual Roseannes were harmed during the filming of this episode.

Dan — John Goodman's character — was particularly upset to learn that she had died of an overdose.

He had personally flushed her pain pills following her knee surgery, fearing that they might be misused or fall into the wrong hand.

In his quest to find someone to blame, he targeted the woman whose name was on the pill bottle.

But he learned that it wasn't so simple — Roseanne had stashed pill bottles from multiple sources all over the house.

John goodman on the connors

Beyond this, the episode covered the Connor family trying to figure out how to exist with their new normal.

Part of that simply meant performing tasks that Roseanne herself used to do.

Dan assumed the role of someone to whom people come to talk, so it was to Dan that Mark came out as gay.

(Dan did a good job, saying that he just wished that Mark had felt comfortable telling him sooner)

In the mean time, Jackie spends the entire time trying to fill in for Roseanne around the house, but it's really because she's not prepared to say goodbye to her late friend.

The connors premiere screencap 02

The episode ends with the family sitting around the table.

There isn't the usual laughter, but they're all happy.

It is also revealed that Dan has been sleeping on the couch since Roseanne's overdose, but he finally returns to his bed.

Honestly, that's a very realistic struggle for people who are grieving.

And grappling with an unexpected opioid overdose is an all too real struggle for Americans.

Roseanne barr cackles

The Connors' premiere ratings were reportedly steady with the finale of Roseanne.

(And that's an incomplete sample of viewers — think of how many people have yet to watch the episode on their DVRs)

Some reviewers went ahead and wrote that The Connors is exactly the sort of revival that ABC should have aired last year.

This show, many viewers agree, has more of the spirit of the original series.

Too much of that lone revival season of Roseanne felt like a betrayal of what the show had always represented.

The connors premiere screencap 03

In the end, plenty of people who would never have tuned in to the Roseanne revival would happily watch The Connors.

Similarly, plenty of people who watched the Roseanne revival because they wanted to cheer on a fellow Trump supporter are boycotting this series.

So far, it appears that the ratings are evening out. We hope that they remain strong.

When Roseanne was canceled, it left hundreds of people suddenly without jobs — people who hadn't been looking for a new production job because Season 2 was already a sure thing.

If nothing else, we're glad that The Connors is keeping those people employed for another television cycle. And perhaps, for many more.

Dancing with the Stars Season Premiere Recap: Who Surprised?

A new set of celebrities hit the floor Monday night as Dancing with the Stars Season 27 got underway.

This is usually the point we talk about which of the celebrities are notable, but it’s difficult to do that when the show has such a random bunch who probably should not have made the cut.

But they did.

Let’s break down the performances on the season premiere to find out which members of the cast actually stand a chance at winning.

Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber

We liked Retton’s chances heading into the season because of her stint in the Olympics. Athletes are more flexible than most, and cutting some shapes on the dance floor is the name of the game on this series.

They dance the Cha Cha to “Treasure,” and there were some glaring issues. It could be a case of it being the first performance, but she will need to loosen up if she wants to remain in the game.

Len Goodman did say she was “pretty nifty for fifty,” so there’s that.

Judges’ Score: 19/30

Milo Manheim and Witney Carson

We had no idea who the heck Milo was when the cast was revealed, but after one episode, we’re sure he’s going to make it very far.

The Disney star performed the Cha Cha to “Free Free Free,” and there was instant chemistry between him and Witney.

There was some criticism, but most of that stemmed from him moving around at a breakneck pace. It turns out these judges want him to straighten his legs a little bit more.

Okay then.

Judges’ Score: 20/30

Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe

Evanna was memorable as Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies, and if she manages to battle the nerves, she could carve out a dancing career.

She was fast and tried any of the routines set out for her which is no easy task. She was rejected from dance college and is now looking to dance her way to victory.

She and Keo danced the foxtrot to “Do You Believe in Magic.” It’s unclear whether Evanna does actually believe in magic.

Judges’ Score: 18/30

Danelle Umstead and Artem Chigvintsev

Danelle danced the foxtrot to “Rise Up” with Artem. Despite being completely blind, she aced the number.

The judges seemed to think so as well, calling the duo’s bond “magical.”

Judges Score: 18/30

Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess

This radio personality went with a jive to “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” and it was a surprisingly fresh performance. Granted, there were some issues, but for the most part, it was solid.

Judges’ Score: 20/30

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke

Did anyone actually think this Fuller House actor was going to be bad? The moment he appeared on the dance floor with Cheryl and danced a salsa to “Dinero,” it was evident he was one to watch.

Len even went as far as calling him “the hunk with the junk in the trunk.”

Judges’ Score: 22/30

Nikki Glaser and Gleb Savchenko

This was one of the more frustrating performances on the night. The comedian went with a salsa to “Yes,” but it was far too rusty.

It felt like an early rehearsal, and the judges pointed that out through their critiques.

Judges’ Score: 17/30

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten

Was this the biggest surprise of the night? Model, Alexis Ren who we had never heard of before her casting strutted her stuff in a poignant jive to “Good Golly Miss Molly.”

She dedicated the performance to her late mother, and the judges were shocked by her dancing ability.

Judges’ Score: 21/30

John Schneider and Emma Slater

At one point, John Schneider was very famous. Somewhere along the way, he disappeared out of the public eye.

He returned on Monday night with a solid foxtrot to “Good Ol’ Boys from Dukes of Hazzard.” We’re struggling to conclude whether the song choice was smart or desperate.

The judges were divided on whether there was something there, but we’ll need to stay tuned to find out if he dances to the Smallville theme tune next.

Judges’ Score: 18/30

Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong

Tinasha is the only member of the cast who is still semi-relevant. It makes sense then that she would prove why she was still relevant with her dance routine.

Her jive to “I’m a Lady” oozed elegance and was filled with showstopping moments. Do we already have our winner?

Judges’ Score: 23/30

Nancy McKeon and Val Chmerkovskiy

This The Facts of Life star turned in a surprisingly solid quickstep to “It Don’t Mean a Thing,” and the judges had a mixed response to it.

She was by no means the best or the worst performer of the night, but there’s potential.

Judges’ Score: 18/30

Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile and Jenna Johnson

We still have no idea why Joe is part of the cast, but he kept a smile on his face while performing the quickstep to “Fish Out of Water,” and it was a resounding failure.

Will he self-evict or will he be headed home Tuesday night?

Judges’ Score: 14/30

DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold

This former NFL pro closed out the season premiere with an awesome cha-cha to “Sweet Sensation.” All three judges were enamored with his ability.

Judges’ Score: 23/30.

What are your thoughts on the performances? Who should go?

Dancing with Stars continues tonight at 8/7c on ABC.

Alaskan Bush People Premiere DESTROYS Kardashian Ratings!

On Sunday, August 19, Alaskan Bush People‘s new season premiered. Fans and viewers got to see the Brown family in Washington for the first time.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians had an episode during the same timeslot. And if Kris got cross on camera, we can only imagine how she feels off camera.

Because Alaskan Bush People‘s ratings absolutely trounced those of KUWTK. They had more than three times as many viewers.

Let’s take a look at Showbuzz Daily‘s Top 150 List and see how ratings went during that August 9 timeslot.

Alaskan Bush People: 3.4 million viewers on Discovery.

90 Day Fiance: 2.2 millon viewers on TLC.

Fear The Walking Dead: 1.9 million viewers on AMC.

Finding Dory: 1.7 million viewers on The Disney Channel.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians did not even bring in 1.1 million for E!

What’s more is that Alaskan Bush People‘s season premiere had nearly double the claim on the coveted 18-49 demographic.

Now, season premiere numbers can give a bit of a bump. That’s normal.

But we’re talking about a difference of more than two million people. That looks like more than a bump, folks.

We’re talking about a family considered to be American royalty getting less than one-third of the market share that the Brown family did.

So, why did viewers tune in?

Well, it wasn’t just to see Bear Brown run through the woods of Washington State.

Viewers are genuinely concerned about Ami Brown’s ongoing cancer battle. They love Ami.

Even though they know that the Brown family spends their off season living large in a Beverly Hills mansion, fans have forged a powerful attachment to the family members.

They want to see how Ami is doing for themselves.

They want to see how the family is adjusting to Washington.

Does this spell doom for the Kardashians?

No, and we don’t mean to suggest that Kris Jenner will see the ratings and start exposing one of her children to carcinogens to attract viewers.

(Insert the obligatory what was really in those doughnuts Kris tried to feed Khloe joke)

First of all, the Kardashian brand is no longer exclusively and inextricably linked to Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

That’s why Kourtney is a millionaire living comfortably and Kylie is on the verge of becoming a billionaire.

Reality television gave the Kardashians a stepping stone that they’ve used to grow their brands and their wealth. It was a means to an end.

We don’t think that this new ratings dynamic means that viewers want totally different things.

If networks respond to this by churning out show after show of families living in unspeakably remote wilderness while one of them battles a terminal illness, it would be a mistake.

This is probably a symptom of overexposure. Everybody knows who the Kardashians are and what they’re up to.

The big surprises that had everyone interested — things like Tristan’s cheating and Kylie’s pregnancy — are old news.

Right now, the Kardashians are focusing on feuding between Kim and Kourtney. They are grown-ass adult mothers of three each and their feuds aren’t as meme-worthy as they once were.

The Brown family might not be more authentic than the Kardashians, but they’re more relatable and they’re way, way less overexposed.

That, we think, is what’s happening here.

Alaskan Bush People Season Premiere Recap: Welcome to Washington!

The Season 8 premiere of Alaskan Bush People focused on two very different prognoses:

1. How would the Browns fare now that they are no longer living in Alaska?

2. How is Ami Brown doing after her lung cancer diagnosis?

Indeed, the Discovery Channel may need to consider a name change for this long-running reality show now that Billy Brown and company have moved away from their native Alaska.

They were forced to do so after Amy’s aforementioned diagnosis because they had to be a lot closer to medical care than they were while living in the middle of the woods.

The family tried California at first due to the top-notch hospitals in the state.

But living there, even temporarily, “really took a toll on everybody,” Gabe explained on Sunday night’s premiere, detailing how his loved ones just aren’t cut out for city life.

While planning on building a permanent homestead (the new Browntown), the family constructed temporary tent housing and tried to get used to the Washington wilderness.

“I can hardly stand the heat,” Bear said at one point.

“And then to have to constantly watch the ground for snakes – that’s a big adjustment from Alaska.”

Billy, however, was in good spirits.

First, for a rather unusual reason.

“We’ve got mountain lions here! How cool is that?!” he said of the area’s fauna. “It feels like home again because we have to watch our backs.”

But Billy was mostly psyched on this episode because he said Ami’s cancer is in remission.

This is a mini miracle, considering Ami Brown had been told she had stage 4 lung cancer, which is nearly as bad as it can get.

To be frank, we did not expect her to be alive right now, let alone filming a new season and having a new lease on life.

“She still has stage 0 primary, and there are still traces,” Billy said on the premiere, adding hopefully:

“They took the majority out, and the growth is really slow. She is doing good, but the docs made it clear that we have to live in a place where she can go to the hospital at any time.”

Hence why the Alaskan Bush People can’t ever return to their beloved Alaska.

But that’s a worthwhile tradeoff if it means their beloved Ami will be around for a long time to come.

“To be out of the city and in the mountains is a blessing in itself and being given second chance is great,” Ami said on Sunday, admitting she feels “better than I have in a lot of years, but I still don’t have all my strength back yet.”

Still, it’s amazing she’s gotten this far.

Whatever happens next, Billy and his kids are prepared. And grateful.

“We’ve fought hard. We deserve to be here,” Billy said on the premiere. “I think this is definitely the biggest adventure we’ve had.”

In case you missed it, or in case you want to check out the return episode again, you can use the video below to watch Alaskan Bush People online.

Do it now!

Kourtney Kardashian DESTROYS Kim and Khloe on Twitter After KUWTK Premiere!

Over the years, we’ve seen plenty of fights on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Like, remember the time that Kendall and Kylie fought over a dress and then Kendall told one of Kylie’s dogs “I’m sorry your mom is such a c–t”?

Or the time that Kourtney and Khloe were bickering and Kourtney dropped the epic line “F-ck you, you f-cking pregnant whore“?

Or, to take it way back, remember when Kim bought her very first Bentley and her siblings made fun of her for being so braggy about it, so she attacked Khloe with her purse?

There’s been quite a few classic feuds in this family, and what happened on last night’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiere is definitely going to end up on the list.

In the episode, Kim was seen doing the planning for the family’s Christmas card photo shoot, and at one point she complained that she had to reschedule the shoot “so that we can all accomodate Miss Queen Kourtney.”

But Kylie, who was very pregnant at the time, couldn’t make it, and Kendall was busy, and Rob didn’t want to be seen, as usual.

“It’s just like craziness,” Kim explained. “So I thought, ‘Why not show the craziness of our family?'”

She decided that they’d all do individual pictures to share throughout the month, and that’s what ended up happening — the edited together the final version with most of the family.

And although Kylie and Rob didn’t do photos for the Christmas card at all, Kim went after Kourtney.

“No one wants you in the f-cking shoot,” she told her. “I’m planning it. I’m planning the shoot, so we don’t want you in the shoot.”

Kourtney replied that she’d already said she’d do the shoot, but Kim still wasn’t having it.

“Maybe if you had a f-cking business that you were passionate about then you would know what it takes to run a f-cking business but you don’t, so don’t even act like you know what I’m talking about,” Kim said.

Kourtney didn’t stick around to hear Kim’s mouth any longer, so instead, Kim continued the chat with Khloe and Kris, telling them that Kourtney is “the least exciting to look at,” so she didn’t have to be on the Christmas card.

“She doesn’t do sh-t,” she complained. “She doesn’t know what it’s like to actually have f-cking work to do.”

And then, because that wasn’t enough drama already, Kourtney called Khloe while she was still with Kim, and Khloe put her on speakerphone.

“I’m not here to f-cking be mistreated by my f-cking bitch family,” Kourtney said through tears. “Kim saying that I’m the least interesting to look at … who even speaks like that?”

Kim didn’t answer that question, but she did tell her big sister “You do whatever the f-ck you want to do and you don’t do sh-t. So be accommodating to the people that actually do sh-t.”

And Kourtney delivered a line that will surely go down as one of the best in KUWTK history:

“You’re a very distraught, evil human being … I don’t agree with who you are as a human being.”

Later, Kim tried to make things right between them by inviting her to her baby shower for precious little Chicago, but Kourtney turned down her invitation.

After that, Kim said that she’d “really hoped Kourtney was gonna get over herself and just show up, but she didn’t. So I don’t think she’s big on family ‘cause if she was, she would be at my shower.”

So it’s clear that the feud is not over yet.

We’re sure to see more sister fighting this season, but as a special treat, we saw quite a bit of it last night on Twitter as the episode aired!

Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe all tweeted during the show, and when her big fight with Kim started, Kourtney wrote “Watching this fight actually gives me chills.”

“It’s not normal to have to relive this stuff,” she added.

Then she tweeted “We all have our own priorities. Mine is being a mother.”

And Kim did not appreciate that one bit.

“And mine is not?” she asked. “The shoot was with our kids!!!!! My #1 priority is being a mother as well and I can work too, so can you!”

Kourtney told her that she does work, “But i wasn’t wanting MORE work, i already felt spread thin. Being a good mother also has different meaning to each of us.”

“You’re an amazing mother,” she added, “I’m not taking that away from you.”

But then Khloe jumped into her own argument with Kourtney … or Kourtney dragged her in, rather.

Someone asked Khloe whose side she was on in the Christmas card feud, and she claimed that she “just wanted peace,” to which Kourtney tweeted “Khloe let’s be honest here.”

“What the f-ck does that mean??” Khloe asked. “I didn’t want peace??”

After stewing for a moment, she asked Kourtney if she was “for real,” and she also asked “Do we want to get into why all of us were frustrated with you? You want to do this on twitter?”

“Please explain when I ever jumped in on that situation. I’m the one who f-cking called you to make sure you were good.”

A little later, when Kourtney hadn’t responded, Khloe tweeted her again and asked “Are you watching the same episode I am??? Do you think I was picking on you?”

“I was genuinely concerned about your happiness. Stop looping me into your drama with Kim! Don’t ever tweet me that sh-t again!”

At one point during that absolute mess of an episode, Kourtney tweeted that she and her sisters are “ride or die,” but “I don’t accept the way we criticize and judge each other anymore. My personal growth doesn’t allow it.”

Kim agreed, writing “Don’t ever get it twisted, me, Kourtney and Khloe are GOOD! ALWAYS!!!! Never question that!”

But then Khloe said that “I was going to ask kourt to workout with me tomorrow but she may throw a dumbbell at my head lol,” so while they obviously still love each other, the fighting may still be happening.

Or, since pretty much all of these tweets ended with a “KUWTK” hashtag, there’s also a very good chance that they’re not fighting at all, they never really were, and Kris Jenner is just going hard for those ratings.

Guess we’ll just have to wait until next week to figure it all out!

The Bachelorette Season Premiere Recap: Let’s Do The Damn Thing!

It’s that time of year again, people!

The Bachelorette is officially back, baby (and The Bachelorette spoilers have already told us who wins, but that’s another story)!

For real, do not follow the above link if you don’t want to know how it plays out for Becca Kufrin and … ooh, that was a close one.

Almost gave it away. Wowza.

Anyway, about Monday night …

Whether you’re a Bachelorette spoilers addicted fiend or opt to remain in suspense as to who Becca picks, this much is 100% clear:

1. She’s smoking hot;

2. The guys love her;

3. It’s gonna be bonkers this season as the runner-up from this winter’s The Bachelor season is already driving the competition crazy.

If you watch The Bachelor online, you will already know that Becca has already had a shot at love on reality TV. She was romanced by Arie Luyendyk Jr. and was even engaged to him.

But Arie had a change of heart, called off their engagement and started a relationship with runner-up Lauren Burnham.

Becca Kufrin and a Rose

It was a horrible chain of events, but it was clear Becca rebounded quickly when she was announced as the new Bachelorette. In fact, it probably worked out better for her.

When the episode kicked off, we learned that Becca was not about to let that loser Arie ruin her time in front of the reality TV cameras.

“I’m just, like, your normal average girl,” she says. “All I did was get my heart broken on TV.”

Becca was joined by former The Bachelorette women JoJo Fletcher, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Rachel Lindsay who had a grand old chat about the highs and lows of finding love on TV.

“Please don’t edit this out: fuck him,” Rachel said of Arie when she got some screen time, before proceeding to sage the mansion.

Rachel Lindsay Red Carpet Photo

Oh yes, Rachel is holding nothing back, and that’s why we loved her so much on her season.

“As women, we do a better a job of it,” Jojo tells the camera when she is asked whether the women are better at picking the men.

“Women are more intuitive. They know what they want,” she continued.

With the sheer amount of men emerging from the limousines at the lavish mansion, it was clear they were all trying to do their best to make a big first impression.

FYI: Lindsay, Fletcher, and Bristowe all picked the same person who won the first impression rose to win the game, so they’re kind of a big deal.

There was a fake proposal, a cardboard cutout of Arie, and even a choir. Even after all these years, the men are really bringing it with the entrances.

Our pick for the best first impression has got to be David. He emerged from the limo in a chicken suit and said the following:

“I’m not here to ruffle feathers.”

chicken suit

If that’s not a winning line, then we don’t know what is.

There was also one contestant who got sent home very early. The reason?

She knew him through friends back in Minnesota, and said that “honestly I don’t think he’s here for me.”

If Becca wanted to prove anything, it was that she was not messing around this time … and that’s what made the rose ceremony, so fun to watch.

Chris went out of his way early in the episode to say that Chase came on to the show for all of the wrong reasons.

Jake, 29

We don’t know where Chris gets the right to speak to people he’s known for a matter of hours like that, but he did.

In any case, Becca actually agreed with Chris and sent Chase packing. If Chris was here to play a strategic game to take out all of the bigger players by planting seeds of doubt in Becca’s mind, he succeeded.

Kamil, Joe, Darius, Grant, and Christian were also given the pink slip, and that meant there were 21 people left in the competition for Becca’s heart.

As for who actually got the first impression rose, it went to Garrett, a 29-year-old who showed up at the mansion in a minivan.

Maybe he was trying to show Becca that he didn’t need a limo to make an entrance. We’re not so sure, but Becca seemed smitten with him.

What did you think of the premiere?

Did the right people go home? Is there a future for Becca and Garrett?
