Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Shown in Bed in Steamy Movie Teaser

Lifetime is coming out with Meghan & Harry: A Royal Romance. That's right, folks. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's romance, portrayed on screen for your viewing consumption.

They've released a short teaser trailer (which you can see below) and, despite its brevity, there is so much in it.

And it looks surprisingly steamy.

Our first big takeaway from the trailer is that the actress whom they selected to portray Meghan Markle has a surprising likeness to her.

Parisa Fitz-Henley is a stunningly beautiful actress, and she could almost be MegMar's sister.

The real Meghan seems to be plagued with opportunistic siblings who are more interested in making trouble for her by speaking to the media than they are in celebrating her happiness.

While Murray Fraser, the actor portraying Prince Harry, is a handsome ginger man, he doesn't seem to almost trick viewers at certain angles in the same way that Fitz-Henley does.

Looking at her in this trailer, you might swear that she's the real deal.

(Part of that, admittedly, is the wig)

Our second big takeaway from this trailer is that … it looks like it's very much a Lifetime film.

Not to be mean, but a lot of what we see in the trailer looks less like the setting of a royal romance and more like … what people would like to imagine is the most romantic.

So … the sorts of dates that you'd see on The Bachelor.

That's a product of a few factors.

One, this royal couple has always been fairly private about their romance. As private as you can be when the whole world is watching, anyway. A lot of their real-life dates have taken place behind closed doors. Producers had to make do with guesswork.

Two, they're trying to tell a romantic story and cash in on fans of the real thing as well as on hate-watchers or those who will tune in ironically.

Three, this is a Lifetime movie, and they're not going to break the bank on this, folks.

Before you ask, no, Murray Fraser is not the actor who impersonated Prince Harry on I Can Marry "Harry" … which continues to be one of the most controversial reality shows of all time.

That actor was Matthew Hicks, who had previously worked as a Prince Harry impersonator, which is one of the most niche jobs that one can possibly imagine.

Murray Fraser is a real actor — in fact, he and Parisa had such a good time on the set of Meghan & Harry: A Royal Romance that they've been posting on social media about wanting to work on another project together.

Not all actors who play love interests get along so well.

In fact, a lot of actors find it awkward to interact with those with whom they've filmed bedroom scenes.

We never thought that we'd say this, but Lifetime is really pushing the envelope, here.

Bedroom scenes — including, as you'll see in the teaser, naked bedroom scenes — aren't unheard of, obviously.

But portraying a royal couple in the nude and in bed together is going to ruffle some feathers.

Not only is the British Royal Family an important symbol for the United Kingdom (well, at least, for the British), but they're treated reverently in certain ways beyond how one might treat a politician or mascot.

Remember, there are still monarchists in this world (really) who believe that the European royal lines were divinely ordained.

Not everyone is going to take kindly to seeing a royal couple portrayed like this:

That said, some people don't like the real couple. Remember, Meghan Markle was targeted by a racist hate crime.

A website linked to the terrorist group Daesh claims to have Meghan Markle's nudes and sexts and has threatened to release more unless the UK withdraws its troops from the Middle East.

Which … is not going to happen for a lot of reasons. Mostly because Parliament does not actually set policy based upon the electronic activity of a future duchess. Who knew?

(It's also not going to happen because the claims that they have video of her pleasuring herself with a pig's foot sounds … super fake, for various reasons)

This May, you can tune in to Lifetime to watch someone's fanfiction of MegMar living out the dreams of a lot of girls who grew up in the '90s.

Also this may, you can actually watch Meghan Markle and Prince Harry get married. That's on the 19th.

The Queen to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: I Hereby Bless You!

The Queen has spoken, folks.

In an official statement issues on Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth II basically looked at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, considered their affection for one another and said the following:

Hey, you kids are alright with me!

Okay, maybe she didn’t use those exact words.

However, as fifth (soon to be sixth, once baby Kate and William arrives!) in line to the throne, Harry must obtain formal permission from his grandmother in order to marry.

So states the Succession to the Crown Act.

And while numerous reports over the past few months have claimed The Queen is totally cool with Markle, this sort of official permission wasn’t granted until the following letter was released by Buckingham Palace.

What’s notable about the letter isn’t just that Elizabeth refers to Harry as her “dearly beloved” grandson, it’s that she uses the given names for both Harry and his fiancee.

“My Lords,” open the statement, which continues in very formal capacity as follows:

I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, which Consent I am causing to be signified under the Great Seal and to be entered in the Books of the Privy Council.

queen statement

So there we have it!

The wedding may get underway as scheduled!

For those somehow not closely following the lives of this heretofore hard-partying Prince and the former Suits actress, Harry and Markle are set to exchange vows on May 19.

The knot-tying will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

No one expected The Queen to object, of course, but Markle is divorced.

This is very common among Americans, however, but it has been frowned upon over the years by Kesington Palace.

In the past, numerous royal relationships have hit a huge snag when a member of this famous yearned to marry a divorcée.

Princess Margaret, for example, was pressured to break off her romance with Captain Peter Townsend because he had previously been married… while King Edward VIII notoriously abdicated the throne to marry a twice-divorced woman named Wallis Simpson.

Markle is also a U.S. citizen.

She’s also mixed-race, with a white mother and a black father.

None of these facts about the beloved ex-actress ought to matter, of course; all that should be considered are her feelings for Harry and vice versa.

But the Royal Family lives by its own rules in many ways.

This is what has made them a source of interest and fascination for decades.

It’s very nice to see Queen Elizabeth leading the charge in easing up on certain guidelines that have been emphasized in the past when it comes to relationships and marriages.

Seriously, anyone who has chronicled the machinations of these folks for years would be stunned to learn that the monarch is down with her grandson marrying anyone who has posed like THIS in her career:

But times have changed and Markle is universally admired.

She and Harry truly do seem so very in love.

We continue to send them our best and we cannot wait for their wedding day!

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry: Already Fighting Over Baby Plans?!

We’re still more than two months away from the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, but it seems the royal couple is already experiencing a spot of premarital strife.

Or perhaps Meghan’s shady relatives are just peddling nonsense to the tabloid media again.

The Australian tabloid New Idea published an interview with Meghan’s former sister-in-law Erin Sprecht today, and the piece mostly confirmed what we already know:

Meghan is awesome; everybody loves Meghan; the royals are “lucky to have Meghan,” etc.

But it also contained at least one big surprise:

According to Sprecht, Meghan is hoping to have a baby ASAP, while Harry would like to be married for a while before starting a family.

“Having a family is going to be a priority for her in their first year of marriage,” Sprecht says.

The insider adds that Meghan wants several kids, and at 36 years old, she’s not keen on the idea of wating around.

“Being a mum is something which she really wants and she has all the perfect qualities. Patience, kindness and a wonderful nature. And she is just great with kids already,” Sprecht tells the outlet.

Well, we think we spotted a hole in this story.

Meghan’s family is American, and thus, unlikely to use the word “mum” in conversation.

Busted, Australian tabloid we never heard of until today!

We kid, of course.

We have no doubt that New Idea really did speak to Meghan’s sister-in-law, as Meghan’s family members have repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to talk with just about any media outlet on the planet.

It’s just a matter of whether or not we actually believe them.

Sprecht says that during her failed marriage to Trevor Engelson, Meghan rarely spoke of having children, but it wasn’t out of a lack of desire to become a mum:

“He just wasn’t the right man for her – when you know you know,” Erin says. “And then being a mum was not something she talked about really when they were together.”

“She said she wanted a family, but never in the way she wanted it now. I think she knew it wasn’t right at that time, which is why she concentrated on work,” Sprecht adds.

“Now she is with the right person. She really wants a family and Harry is perfect for her.”

We’re sure in the end Harry and Meghan will work out a mutually agreeable compromise in terms of a baby timetable – and Sprecht says that whenever the time comes, Meg will most assuredly be up to the challenge.

“They are going to be great parents together,” Erin says.

You know you’re doing alright when even the people from your past who are dishing to random gossip outlets only have nice things to say about you.

Meghan Markle! Kate Middleton! Prince William! Prince Harry! All on Stage… Together!

A royally awesome and historic event took place in Great Britain on Wednesday morning.

As documented below, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ALL took the stage as a foursome for the first time at the inaugural Royal Foundation Forum.

The charity organization was initially set up by the two princes and Middleton, but after Markle officially joins the family on her wedding day, she will be a patron as well.

The only other time we’ve seen all four of these very famous people in the same place together was when they made their way to church on Christmas day.

The royals (and the one gorgeous royal-to-be) used this event to lay out various hopes and plans for their current and future work under the charitable umbrella of the Royal Foundation.

Audience members on hand got to hear them talk about why the foundation was set up, the projects they are working on right now and other ones in the pipeline.

“Ten years ago Harry and I were still serving full-time in the military, but we were starting to look to the next stages of our lives,” William explained in stage, elaborating as follows:

“As we discussed together the best way to set out on our official work, we looked to the values our family had instilled in us.”

He said he was “particularly happy” that Markle had joined the efforts and added:

“Both our parents had provided for us an example of diligence, compassion and duty in all they did.

“Our grandparents, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, had made support for charity central to their decades of service to the nation and the Commonwealth.”

After her husband said he wanted to “celebrate this spirit of togetherness” with others around the world, Middleton took the stage to talk about Heads Together.

This is a campaign meant to break the stigma around mental health and promote conversation around the issue, something Middleton has admirably been on the forefront of for years.

“The campaign set out to change the national conversation on mental health,” she said.

“We are all so proud of the work we did with our partners; to challenge the stigma which has prevented so many people from speaking openly about their mental wellbeing…

“I am sure you will agree that the mental health of children and adults is one area where a longterm view will make a huge difference to generations in the future.”

Finally, Markle addressed her old profession (entertainment) and the ongoing #MeToo movement and #TimesUp movement that are at least empowering women to speak out.

She wanted to make one point very clear as it pertained to this topic.

“I hear a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women’s’ empowerment you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices,” she said.

“I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen.”

This said, the future Mrs. Prince Harry is thrilled that things are finally changing in Hollywood, and in other work places as well, she hopes.

“I think right now in the climate we’re seeing with so many campaigns, with #MeToo and Time’s Up, there’s no better time than to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people really helping to support them – men included in that.”

Speaking of men also playing a role in this battle, she said simply:

“It makes such a tremendous difference.”

It really does.

Markle will exchange vows with Harry on May 19 in London.

She is clearly very comfortable already on the world stage, likely helped over the years by the promotional tours she embarked on for the USA Network hit drama Suits.

We cannot wait for her wedding day.

Spice Girls to Perform at Prince Harry-Meghan Markle Wedding!

What could possibly be better than a royal wedding?

Okay, the list of answers to that question is actually incredibly long and includes everything from Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to reruns of Roseanne.

But we’re here to talk about one very specific thing that’s better than a royal wedding – and that’s a royal wedding that features a performance from the Spice Girls.

Yes, according to none other than Mel B, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchange vows in May, they’ll be serenaded by Britain’s favorite pop group behind those shaggy-headed dudes who sang that song about the Walrus.

Mel reluctantly made the announcement while appearing on daytime talk show The Real this morning.

Hosts Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai questioned Mel on whether or not she’s been invited to the wedding, and she eventually broke down and silently mouthed the word “going.”

The crowd lost its mind, and Mel admitted that she may have been a bit too forthcoming.

“I don’t know if I should have said that live on camera, but…” she joked.

When the trio of hosts pressed Mel for further information about the event, she confessed that her former bandmates would also be in attendance.

Asked if she received a formal invitation, Mel clarified:

“Well, it was the five Spice Girls. Why am I so honest?”

Mel drew the line, however, at providing a physical description of the royal invite.

“See, now that’s getting too personal if I actually describe it.” Mel B said, adding it was a “proper” invite. “I’m not saying any more!”

Then came the biggest revelation of all:

Asked if she performing at the ceremony, Mel simply shook her head, laughed, and threw her notecards in the air.

That’s British for “yes, but if I say it out loud, the Queen might have me beheaded.”

For the time being Mel’s not saying anything more, and in general details about Harry and Meghan’s wedding have been scarce, so we have no choice but to make wild guesses regarding the setlist.

To come right out of the gate with “Wannabe” or “Spice Up Your Life” would be to risk stealing the spotlight from the bride and groom (another beheadable offense).

We’re betting on something more lyrically appropriate – “When 2 Become 1” followed by a rousing rendition of “Say You’ll Be There” in order to … spice things up.

Whatever the case, it’s sure to be a memorable performance … that will never be seen by lowly peasants like us. Zigazig ah!
