Rep. Steve Scalise NFL Should Replay Saints-Rams Game … This Saturday!!!

EXCLUSIVE

Rep. Steve Scalise — the House Minority Whip — says the NFL NEEDS to replay the Saints-Rams NFC Championship Game … telling TMZ Sports they gotta to do it THIS Saturday!!!

We got the Louisiana congressman out in D.C. when he said the NFL blew the ending of the Saints game so badly … Roger Goodell needs to re-kickoff the matchup this weekend.

“Frankly, they should play a makeup game. If the Saints played the Rams on Saturday, I think it’d be the highest-watched sports event all year.”

Of course, Steve’s beef with the game stems from the obvious missed pass interference call late in the 4th quarter of Sunday’s thriller.

Scalise tells us he expects the NFL to right that issue in time for next season … saying the league has too much technology for that to happen again.

BTW … Steve also says the Saints will rebound strong next year regardless — telling us, “We’re going to do some reverse voodoo and get back in the Super Bowl next year!”

Steve Buscemi Wife of 30 Years Dies … Funeral Held at Family Home

Steve Buscemi‘s wife died earlier this week, and the funeral was a moving funeral at their NYC home … TMZ has learned.

We’re told Jo Andres died either last Monday or over last weekend. On Monday, friends and family began arriving at their Brooklyn home. It appears the funeral service — at the home — was held last Tuesday and the burial was Wednesday.

We’re told there were around 20 people at the service, including Steve’s co-star from “The Big Lebowski” John Turturro and Aida Turturro from “The Sopranos.” Steve’s brother Michael and Steve’s son Lucian were also there.

FDNY blocked off the street Wednesday as the wicker casket was removed from the home. As you know, Buscemi was a volunteer FDNY firefighter on 911.

The company that showed up to do the prep work for the funeral specializes in home funerals and “natural burials” … where the body is not embalmed and typically the final resting place is in a “natural setting.” Everything is biodegradable and one of the purposes is to preserve the environment.

Steve and Jo were married for 30 years. They had a son, Lucian, who’s 29.

We do not know the cause of death.

Jo was 65.

RIP

Trey Songz Wrapped Up with Steve Harvey’s Stepdaughter … During NYE Gig

Exclusive Video

Trey Songz put rumors that he’s been dating Steve Harvey‘s 21-year-old stepdaughter to rest on Monday … by confirming they’re absolutely boo’d up heading into 2019.

The R&B singer was performing at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco for New Year’s Eve and people couldn’t help but notice a girl was clinging to his back with her arms wrapped around his torso as he sang. Well, that was Lori Harvey … Steve’s youngest stepchild.

She showed up on his Insta story earlier in the night wearing the same gold dress that was seen on the chick wrapping him up. No question … it was her, and they’re into each other.

Trey and Lori have been hanging out a lot through the holidays, and it now seems they’re an item in the new year.

Lori’s an up-and-coming model who’s walked for Fashion Week in Milan and Paris. It’s clear why she’s caught his eye … she’s gorgeous.

Saints Legend Steve Gleason Getting Congressional Gold Medal … For ALS Work

Breaking News

This is awesome!

The House of Representatives voted UNANIMOUSLY on Thursday to award the Congressional Gold Medal to ex-Saints star Steve Gleason for all the great work he’s doing to battle ALS.

Gleason (who played for the Saints from 2000 to 2006) was diagnosed with ALS back in 2011. The disease affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

But, despite his physical challenges, Gleason has been a leading voice in raising awareness and money for ALS organizations.

For example, he’s advocated for federal legislation to help ensure people living with diseases like ALS have access to speech-generating devices and he’s also been a major leader in the largest coordinated and collaborative ALS research project in the world.

The politicians were obviously impressed — and Gleason will become the 1st ex-NFL player to receive the award.

FYI, the Congressional Gold Medal recognizes people who have “performed an achievement that has an impact on American history and culture that is likely to be recognized as a major achievement in the recipient’s field long after the achievement.”

It’s one of the highest civilian awards in the U.S.

“It is a true honor to witness Steve Gleason become the first New Orleanian and former NFL Legend to receive the Congressional Gold Medal,” Saints Owner Gayle Benson said.

“Along with his wife, Michel, and everyone at Team Gleason, they have unfailingly confronted ALS with a courageous and unwavering determination. Their tireless work to provide crucial assistance and the latest in technology and services has improved countless people’s quality of living.”

“Steve is leaving a truly indelible mark in American history and we are honored to call him a true New Orleans Saint.”

Gleason will join a prestigious group of Gold Medal winners including Bob Hope, Winston Churchill, Joe Louis, Jesse Owens, Frank Sinatra, Mother Teresa, Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King.
