Busta Rhymes‘ New Year got off to a heated start — he came pretty close to blows with a guy who was not down with Busta hitting on his wife … so we’re told.
Witnesses at the scuffle tell TMZ … the rapper was sitting in his car in Times Square in the wee hours of New Year’s Day when a man and his wife walked by. We’re told the wife said “hi” to Busta, but the husband didn’t like Busta’s response — he allegedly invited her to hang with him in his ride.
We’re told the man had words for Busta, who got out of his car and began arguing with him … which is where the video picks up. Things escalated pretty quickly, and the guys got face-to-face and grabbed each other before Busta’s security broke it up.
Everyone eventually walked away, but we’re told cops showed up and talked to the man who got into it with Busta. There are no signs any arrests were made during the incident.
We’ve reached out to Busta’s rep, but no word back yet.
Confrontations like this are nothing new for Busta. We broke the story … he snapped on a dude in Miami in October 2017 and looked ready to brawl before his crew stopped him.
There’s also his infamous gym freakout in 2015 … where he threw a protein shake at an employee.
Justin and Hailey Bieberare having a hard time finding the perfect day to celebrate their union, because we’ve learned the couple is postponing their second wedding ceremony … AGAIN.
Sources familiar with the planning tell us some of the 300 guests who received JB and HB’s “save the date” were notified Tuesday that their second round of nuptials is being rescheduled … for the third time.
We’re told the Biebers got some regrets back from certain loved ones who couldn’t make it to Los Angeles for the weekend of Justin’s birthday at the beginning of March, as was originally planned, so it’s back to the drawing board.
We’re told Justin and Hailey initially panicked and started to scramble for another date, but then it dawned on them — THEY’RE ALREADY MARRIED, so there’s no rush.
Our sources say the wedding will not be anytime soon … they want to properly plan it this time with plenty of warning for guests. We’re told they’re now thinking they may want to do a destination wedding, knowing that would pare down the guest list considerably.
Andy Cohenain’t about to let Johnny Law rain on his New Year’s Eve plans, because the host is already gearing up for the next ball drop with a fancy new umbrella … Times Square Alliance be damned!
We got Andy Monday in NYC and he flaunted his personalized umbrella … bragging it would be with him for his next NYE broadcast. He also dared the now infamous Times Square Alliance to stop him.
You’ll recall … Andy threw a fit on-air during CNN’s NYE broadcast last week after he claimed security ordered him to lose his umbrella in the pouring rain or risk losing the network’s credentials for the next NYE show.
The Times Square Alliance fired back in response to Andy’s rant, pouring water all over his claims.
It’s clear Andy’s not ready to squash the beef yet, and just might be praying for rain on Dec. 31, 2019.
It’s still raining on Andy Cohen, because he’sgetting some serious pushback from the Times Square Alliance after he ranted on air about being singled out by officials who forced him to take down his umbrella during his CNN New Year’s Eve broadcast.
During his fit, Andy claimed someone in the Times Square Alliance threatened to pull CNN’s credentials for its next NYE show if he didn’t lose his umbrella.
The Alliance fired back on Wednesday, issuing a statement to Page Six saying umbrellas are not allowed in certain media areas because they can block sightlines for other media.
The Alliance also denied Cohen’s claim CNN’s credentials were threatened, saying, “some tempers flared, but it was never the case, nor will it be the case, that CNN would be denied credentials or the ability to cover New Year’s Eve.”
Here’s to hoping rain steers clear of Times Square next NYE … although it did make for some pretty interesting TV.
Andy Cohen had a fit on the air during his CNN New Year’s Eve broadcast over Times Square security and his umbrella.
Andy came back from a commercial with Anderson Cooper and launched on the Times Square Alliance, which ordered him to lose his umbrella … or else.
It was pouring rain in Times Square and Andy was outraged, calling the order “Grade A BS.”
Cohen says, when he initially refused to get rid of the umbrella, a member of the Times Square Alliance threatened to pull CNN’s credentials for the next New Year’s Eve show. Andy relented, but was furious.
BTW … Andy also announced the surrogate who is carrying his baby is about to deliver a boy.
Bam Margeraapparently already has a New Year’s resolution in mind … because he says he’s going to back to rehab for a third time.
The “Jackass” star announced his plans to go to alcohol rehab in an Instagram post on New Year’s Eve … he captioned the photo, “Off to alcohol rehab for the 3rd time. I am hoping the term 3rd time is a charm is true.”
You’ll recall … Bam fell off the wagon back in August, when he cracked open a cold beer after saying he was robbed at gunpoint in Cartagena, Colombia during a super sketchy cab ride. At the time, Bam was 7 months sober.
This will mark the second straight January that Bam is in rehab. We broke the story … Bam checked into rehab in January 2018, only days after his DUI arrest in Los Angeles.
