Jill Duggar Pays Birthday Tribute to Derick Dillard … Who Promptly Gets Roasted By Fans

It’s been a rough few months for Derick Dillard.

The troubles started when Derick got fired by TLC after launching an unprovoked social media attack on fellow network star Jazz Jennings.

In the months since, things have only gotten worse for poor Der.

It’s almost like costing his family their only source of income in order to settle some petty social media score wasn’t the smartest move.

This week has been a particularly hard one on Derick, as he was torn to shreds for complaining that TLC refused to pay his son’s medical bills.

(As many followers pointed out, employers give you money in exchange for labor, so that you can pay for unexpected expenses yourself.)

But it’s Friday, and it’s Derick’s 29th birthday, so right about now he probably just wants to kick back with a spicy Virgin Mary and forget about the online world for a bit.

Unfortunately for Big D, the internet doesn’t take days off.

Earlier today, Derick’s wife, Jill Duggar, posted the above photo along with a heartfelt birthday message:

“Happy birthday My Love! You’re the best hubby and father! I’m so in love with you! I hope this last birthday in your 20s is a good one,” Jill captioned the pic.

Unfortunately, the last year of Der’s twenties isn’t off to the greatest start, as Jill’s followers took the opportunity to roast the controversial house husband within an inch of his life:

“Derick, happy birthday. As you blow out your candles, you should wish forgiveness from God for the things that come out of you mouth,” wrote one follower.

“May Derick learn the true meaning of being a Christian for his 29th year,” another commented.

“Wow! 29 and still doesn’t have a real paying job! How very sad,” another roast-master remarked.

“I don’t think this year will be a good birthday. After all, he posted on Twitter yesterday he seems really emotional and upset. I have a feeling Derick will be on Twitter again all day complaining how life isn’t fair.”

Needless to say, there’s not a lot of birthday love out there for Der today.

Maybe he should flip the script and give Twitter a present by deleting his account.

Jeremy Roloff Pays Tribute to Billy Graham

Like millions of people around the world this week, Jeremy Roloff is in mourning.

The Little People, Big World star has a lot to say in the wake of Billy Graham passing away.

Yesterday morning, word broke online that the 99-year old pastor had died at his home in North Carolina of natural causes.

The long-time religious figure had served for decades as the spiritual adviser of several Presidents, while also preaching to a greater number of people than anyone else in history.

According to estimates on his website, Graham spoke to a lifetime audience of approximately 215 million people in over 185 countries and territories, with “hundreds of millions more” viewing him on television, video, film and via the Web.

In response to Graham dying, Roloff shared the above photo and the following message:

I was first saved at a Billy Graham event in downtown Portland. I must have been eight at the time.

I remember clinging to the words he spoke with curiosity and wonder. Something deep in me wanting it to be true – it took a decade until I realized it was.

The world has lost a great warrior for the kingdom. A true “good and faithful” servant.

However, in the words of C.S. Lewis – Christian’s need never say goodbye.

Typically, Audrey Roloff is the half of this famous couple who speaks candidly about her relationship with God.

And she has also made a mention of Graham, sharing Jeremy’s caption in her Instagram Stories, along with and a photo of the preacher.

But Jeremy was clearly touched on a personal level by the reverend and felt a need to speak out on his own in this unique and sad case.

He wasn’t the only well-known individual to publicly pay tribute to Graham, either.

“My entire family came to faith through Billy,” Kathie Lee Gifford said on air during The Today Show on Wednesday, while adding on Twitter:

“Rejoicing with my precious friend, Billy Graham. Without a doubt, the finest man I ever knew. So grateful that I am among the millions that he led to faith in Jesus and the promise of eternal life.”

And there was this from President Trump:

“The GREAT Billy Graham is dead. There was nobody like him! He will be missed by Christians and all religions. A very special man.”

And this from President Obama:

“Billy Graham was a humble servant who prayed for so many – and who, with wisdom and grace, gave hope and guidance to generations of Americans.”

May Graham rest in peace.

Frances Bean Cobain, Courtney Love Pay Tribute on Kurt Cobain’s Birthday

Believe it or not, it’s been 24 years since Kurt Cobain took his own life at the height of his fame.

The iconic Nirvana frontman would have turned 51 today.

Millions of fans and the wife and daughter he left behind took to social media today to pay tribute to one of the most influential musicians in recent decades.

Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean Photo

Frances Bean Cobain marked the occasion by posting the above photo of herself and her father.

Sadly, it’s one of very few of them together, as Kurt died when Frances was just 18 months old.

Frances honored her father last year, on what would have been Kurt’s 50th birthday.

She kept the tradition going today with a caption that spoke to her father’s snarky sense of humor:

“I hope they don’t have the internet wherever you are. I feel like that would be counterproductive. Regardless, Happy Birthday to an angel,” she wrote.

Last week, Frances revealed that she’s sober following a several-year battle substance abuse.

As the daughter of two parents who struggled with addiction, the odds were stacked against Frances in terms of falling prey to the disease herself.

So the fact that she was able to not only get clean but to share her story with fans is all the more impressive.

Kurt’s widow, Courtney Love, also paid tribute to the late rock star on social media.

“Happy birthday baby god I miss you,” she captioned the photo below.

The years since her husband’s death have often been tumultuous for Love, and she endured their own well-publicized battles with addiction.

Love has admitted to using heroin while pregnant and has been harshly criticized for some of her public behavior over the years, but against all odds, she seems to have turned things around recently.

She remains a popular cultural figure and has happily assisted in keeping Kurt’s legacy alive for a generation of new music fans.

As another birthday passes for a legend who would likely still have many years of touring and recording ahead of him if he’d only survived his youth, it’s hard not to dwell on what might have been.

But as teens who weren’t yet born when Cobain died continue to sport Nirvana t-shirts, and artists like Post Malone cover songs like “All Apologies” one can only be grateful for the tremendous body of work this troubled soul left behind.

Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Pay Birthday Tribute to Son Tyler: We Didn’t Forget This Time!

There are many challenges that come with raising 20 children.

You have to feed and clothe a small army, you have to yell out the right name when you’re angry, which is often a challenge even for parents with regular-sized families…

… and of course, you have to remember 20 different birthdays.

Lately, that last task has proven a considerable challenge for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

Yes, despite their claims of being the planet’s foremost super parents, the Duggars have been forgetting birthdays lately.

But don’t worry, they’ve been doing their damnedest to cover their tracks.

First, they spaced on Jordyn Duggars’ birthday, and hastily threw together a last-minute celebration.

Shortly thereafter, Joseph Duggar turned 23, and his parents obviously forgot about his big day entirely.

They compensated by posting a video with a Jay Leno impersonator they’d just happened to run into, which sounds like something only the drunkest of stepdads would attempt to get away with.

Needless to say, the Duggars took quite a bit of flak, for their recent lapses in memory.

So it should come as no surprise that they’ve taken steps to ensure that no such errors occur again.

After all, forgetting your kids’ birthdays is one thing – being called out as anything other than models of perfect parenting is quite another.

Many fans of the family aren’t even aware of this, but back in 2016, the Duggars adopted a 20th child.

His name is Tyler Duggar and he celebrated his 10th birthday over the weekend.

Newly self-conscious about assuring the world that they remember the dates all their kids were born, the Duggars took to social media to pay tribute to Tyler.

The Duggars posted the above photo on Facebook, along with a caption praising the newest addition to their massive brood:

“Happy 10th birthday Tyler, a whole decade now!” Michelle and Jim Bob wrote.

“You are such a joy and a delight! We are so thankful for you! We wish you a happy birthday and look forward to another great year!!”

Comments on the post served as a reminder that many fans were not aware of Tyler’s existence:

“Happy Birthday young man…Tyler. But, who is Tyler? All Duggar names start with a J,” one fan wrote.

“Who is Tyler? I thought all there [sic] kids’ names started with a J? Did they adopt?” another remarked.

So it looks like the Duggars haven’t been very good about celebrating all things Tyler on social media.

But hey, at least they remembered his birthday!

Rain Brown Posts Sweet Tribute to Cancer-Free Ami Brown!

Just a couple of weeks ago, Ami Brown revealed that her cancer is in remission. It was a long, scary battle, but she’s begun to recover enough that she can go places with her family.

While fans are overjoyed, obviously, no one is happier about Ami’s recovery than the Browns themselves.

Ami’s youngest, Rain Brown, has posted a beautiful tribute to her mother.

Thrilled beyond belief that Ami Brown is finally cancer-free, 15-year-old daughter Rain posted to Instagram to celebrate her mother.

“I would just like to give a very honest thank you to the most amazing woman that’s ever walked this earth.”

She wrote this in the captions of an Instagram photo (above) in which she is embracing her mom.

“Not only am I lucky enough to have met an angel and know an angel, but that angel is my mother.”

“Honestly you inspire me more then anyone, and I’m so blessed to know I have people like you in my life that will support me no matter where I go and how I choose to get there.”

Rain then goes on to praise her mother’s parenting.

“You’ve never judged me or punished me but only taught me with love and with leading by great example.”

That sounds like a fantastic parenting style — one that has worked out beautifully for Rain, who is an incredible and compassionate young woman.

“You’re the reason I am who I am and the reason I keep fighting, because if the sweetest most honest happiest person such as yourself can do it? So can I.”

It’s wonderful that Ami can inspire her young daughter.

If you’re wondering what Rain means by “keep fighting,” remember that Rain Brown suffers from depression.

Rain wrote yet another post, sharing words of encouragement for followers who might feel the same way that she does.

“To everyone out there who feels broken…”

Sadly, a lot of people feel that way.

“Someday you will be immensely happy eating ice cream on the floor alone at six in the morning.”

That’s a very specific example of happiness, but sometimes people with depression begin to forget what joy feels like.

“Yes it can happen to you too.”

Rain speaks to her followers about how perspective can help them to battle their depression symptoms.

“Someday you’re gonna go through something only to realize it doesn’t hurt anymore, not in a numb kind of way, but in a happy strong kind of way, stay true to yourself and to God and that’s all you’ll ever need.”

She wants people who’ve felt depression like she has to know that there’s hope.

“It may not seem like it now, but eventually you will be exactly where I am.”

Like Tarek El Moussa’s hopeful message, Rain’s advice is clearly that people need to remember the good in order to make it through the bad.

“This is just a reminder that happiness is real, it’s a beacon of hope and a glimpse of the light that will soon be in your life #staystrong my Rainbrows and remember this unicorn loves you!”

Rain has become something of an unofficial spokesperson for her family in recent months, thanks to her social media presence.

But you can tell that these sweet messages were from the heart.

A 15-year-old may not seem like the most qualified self-help guru, but she’s not trying to be.

She’s just trying to share her wisdom — yes, teenagers can be wise — with the people who follow her to keep up with her thoughts and her family’s activities.

Justin Timberlake Defends Prince Tribute, Gives Props to “The GOAT”

Justin Timberlake sang and danced his handsome rear end off on Sunday night.

The artist performed at halftime of Super Bowl 52, running through such hits as “Gone,” “Can’t Stop That Feeling” and “Cry Me a River,” while almost literally running the entire time.

Seriously, he must have covered, like, three miles between all his dancing, shaking and mere moving around the stadium in Minnesota.

While the halftime act in general has received modest to mixed reviews, one aspect of the performance in particular has largely been panned.

About three-quarters of the way through his set, Timberlake sat down at a computer and paid tribute to Prince, covering a few bars of “I Would Die 4 U.”

As he did so, a few photos of the legendary musician (who died of a drug overdose in April of 2016 and who famously made Minnesota his home) were projected on a giant screen nearby.

Why did this tribute not go over well with many viewers?

As explained below, it’s because Prince once referred to the idea of singing a duet with a dead artist via hologram to be terrible and “demonic.”

Granted, Timberlake did not use a hologram.

But he did rely on Prince’s likeness as part of his concert.

Appearing later on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake explained why he wanted overall to pay homage to Prince.

“It’s a moment for me, and if I’m being quite honest, it’s because he’s always been the pinnacle of musicianship,” Timberlake said, adding in more detail:

“And when we decided that the serendipity and synergy [of being] in Minnesota – he’s such a special thing here aside from what he is all over the world.

“I just felt like I wanted to do something for this city and something for him that would just be the ultimate homage to what I consider the GOAT [Greatest of All Time] of musicians.”

That’s fine and all.

It’s great and admirable, even.

No one is disputing that Timberlake should have given Prince a special shout-out.

There was even a Las Vegas prop bet one could have made that predicated Timberlake would cover a Prince track… and the odds were pretty low because it was nearly a given this would take place.

The controversy has simply arisen over the projected pictures of the late superstar on screen.

JT did not really touch on this topic while speaking to Fallon, however.

He simply expounded on what went into the homage itself.

“We got the actual vocal stems from ‘I Would Die 4 U’ and the actual recording, and then we got uncut footage from his performance of it in ‘Purple Rain’ and somehow, someway, by the grace of – probably Prince looking down on us – it synced up and it was this crazy, serendipitous moment,” he said.

“I just wanted to use that opportunity to do something special for this city, but most of all my favorite musician of all time.”

You can relive the entire performance here:

Toward the end of his interview with Fallon, Timberlake did seem to acknowledge some of the negative press surrounding his act.

But Questlove gave Justin a thumbs-up from across The Tonight Show stage and, to Timberlake, this said it all.

“Questlove is the encyclopedia on music, but I also feel like a gatekeeper on Prince, so if I got the thumbs-up from Questlove, I’m good,” he said.

Do you agree?

Overall, hand out a grade for Timberlake’s halftime act below:

Prince Fans Destroy Justin Timberlake for Halftime “Tribute”

Justin Timberlake performed a medley of his most beloved hits at halftime of Super Bowl 52.

Did you catch the dance-filled act?

Relive it HERE if not.

The 13-plus minute performance featured Timberlake belting out such hits as "Can't Stop This Feeling" and "Gone," but the focus a day later is on the minute or two during which he sat at a piano and played a cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U."

What a nice tribute to the late musician, who made his home in the Super Bowl host city of Minnesota, right?

WRONG, many Prince fans are now saying. So very, very, very, VERY wrong.

Scroll down and all around to find out why:

1. May He Rest in Peace

May he rest in peace
Prince, of course, died in April of 2016. He was famous for his Minneosta mansion and he performed at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2007, leaving many to assume Timberlake would cover a song of his this year.

No hologram jt
A song would have been great, but this is where the controversy started, with talk that Timberlake would sing alongside a Prince hologram during his act. Many years ago, Prince said the following about the use of such a device: “That’s the most demonic thing imaginable. Everything is as it is, and it should be. If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age. That whole virtual reality thing… it really is demonic. And I am not a demon.”

3. Easy, Folks

Easy folks
Long-time Prince friend Shiela E. said prior to the show that rumors of Timberlake using a hologram were false. She assured everyone this would NOT take place.

4. Okay, Phew

Okay phew
Social media users felt a lot better after reading the message.

5. And She Was Sort of Right

And she was sort of right
Check out the above photo. It’s not a hologram. It’s just a projection of Prince of a giant screen. But try parsing that difference to loyal Prince supporters, who were far from happy about Timberlake’s stunt.

6. Did This Count as a Hologram?

Did this count as a hologram
Yes, it might as well have in the eyes of critics who took to Twitter and blasted Timberlake.
