Stephen Hawking, World’s Most Famous Physicist, Dead at 76

Stephen Hawking, the brilliant British theoretical physicist known and respected around the world for his incredible life story, died on Wednesday.

He was 76 years old.

Hawking overcame a debilitating disease to publish enormously popular books that delved into the mysteries of the universe.

His passing was confirmed to the press and the public by a family spokesperson and his three kids and first wife released a statement early today that reads as follows:

We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today.

He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years.

His courage and persistence with his brilliance and humor inspired people across the world.

He once said, ‘It would not be much of a universe if it wasn’t home to the people you love.’ We will miss him forever.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Simply put, had been widely considered the world’s greatest scientist.

But he was more than that; he was also a cosmologist, astronomer, mathematician and author of numerous books including the landmark “A Brief History of Time.”

The latter has sold more than 10 million copies across the globe.

Hawking was diagnosed with motor neurons disease at 21 years of old in 1963 and given two years to live at the time.

As this condition worsened, he eventually started to lose his ability to move, slowly being able to only communicate by using a single cheek muscle that was attached to a device which allowed him to speak.

Despite his diagnosis, however, Hawking defied every possible odd.

He continued his studies at Cambridge University and went on to merge Einstein’s theory of relativity with quantum theory in order to suggest that space and time would begin with the Big Bang and end in black holes.

“A star just went out in the cosmos,” Lawrence Krauss, a theoretical physicist and cosmologist, wrote on Twitter. “We have lost an amazing human being.”

Hawking was wheelchair-bound and paralyzed.

He used a speech synthesizer that allowed him to speak in a computerized voice with an American accent.

“I try to lead as normal a life as possible, and not think about my condition, or regret the things it prevents me from doing, which are not that many,” he once wrote on his website, adding:

“I have been lucky that my condition has progressed more slowly than is often the case. But it shows that one need not lose hope.”

In 2014, Hawking’s life was adapted into the film The Theory of Everything starring Eddie Redmayne, who portrayed the physicist, and Felicity Jones, who played his ex-wife Jane.

Redmayne (below) won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his work on the film.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Hawking appeared on such hit shows as The Simpsons and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Across Hollywood, stars have taken to Twitter to express their sadness over Hawking’s passing, with actor Kumail Nanjiani, for example, writing:

“RIP Stephen Hawking. Genuinely very sad to hear that. If you haven’t, read A Brief History of Time. It’ll make the world feel more amazing and beautiful and strange. It’ll also make you feel smart and stupid all at once.”

Hawking, who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama, was also married twice.

He and his aforementioned first wife, Jane Wilde, were together for over 30 years before divorcing in 1995.

Hawking was later married for 11 years to Elaine Mason, one of his former nurses.

The late scientist’s three kids are named Lucy, Robert and Tim and we send them our best wishes.

May Stephen Hawking rest in peace.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Release World’s Most Beautiful Engagement Photos

Your Royal Highness?

Based on the following official engagement photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it’s really more like the following:

Such royal hotness!

The British muffin of stud and the former USA Network actress have posed for a series of breathtaking pictures that are taking the Internet by sexy storm.

They’ve been unveiled by Kensington Palace, whose Twitter account left the following simple message on the wake of these wonderful portraits:

“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen to release official photographs to mark their engagement.”

The two main snapshots were taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski earlier this week at Frogmore House, Windsor.

One is color (above), one is black and white (below) and a third has also been posted on social media as a sort of thank you to the public for showing such enthusiasm for the first pair.

In the above photograph, Markle leans on her fiance’s leg as they pose on a set of stairs, the beauty donning a black gown and the hunk sporting a blue suit.

They’re holding hands, with Markle showing off her engagement ring very clearly for the camera.

Directly above, meanwhile, the Royal and the soon-to-be Royal nuzzle in close together and appear to be laughing over something.

Perhaps over those silly rumors that Markle is feuding with Kate Middleton.

“It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another,” Lubomirski through the Palace, adding:

“I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”

Have you ever seen a happier, better looking couple?!?

Due to the overwhelmingly positive responses to these pictures, Kensington Palace was kind enough to release a third image.

“As a way to say thank you, [Harry and Meghan] have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you,” read the caption to the following photo.

Simply glorious, right?

The public release of these pictures comes just a day after Markle joined her man and other senior members of the royal family for Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

She is also scheduled travel to Sandringham with Harry to join the royal family for Christmas.

How special!

We guess things really are serious between these stars.

Following weeks of rumors, Harry and Markle got engaged a few weeks ago and have already announced that they will wed on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

We hope to be invited.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Release World’s Most Perfect Christmas Card

It’s the most wonderful time of the year?

Maybe, to some.

But we’d like to make an addendum to this saying:

It’s the most ROYALLY wonderful time of the year!

This is now officially the case because Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their 2017 Christmas card and it featured their two children and it’s just so unbelievable cute and perfect that we want to squeal out loud.

In fact, we can’t help it. We’re going to do so:

Getty photographer Chris Jackson snapped the lovely portrait earlier this year and then posted it on Twitter on Monday, writing the following as he did so:

“Delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen to use this family portrait I shot as their Christmas Card this year.

“Merry Christmas!”

The stunning snapshot depicts Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their parents wearing matching blue outfits.

Check it out here:

It should be noted that Jackson also took Prince George’s fourth birthday photograph this summer.

The Christmas card photograph was probably taken on the same day as Prince George’s birthday picture, considering he’s wearing the same outfit.

See it HERE.

For last year’s Christmas card, the beloved quartet used a candid shot Jackson took during the royal tour of Canada.

It marked the full immediate family’s first overseas trip together.

And, not that it even needs to be said, but the final product was downright precious:

2016 card

About a year from now, of course, the 2018 version of this card will look very different… because Middleton is pregnant!

Heck, Middleton may even be pregnant with twins.

Whether it’s one additional child or two, however, expect another cute face to be added to this portrait in just a few months.

(Middleton is reportedly due in April; just a short while before Prince Harry marries Meghan Markle. It’s all VERY exciting!)

In addition to sharing their 2017 Christmas card, meanwhile, their Royal Highnesses also shared some exciting news today:

Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London!!!!!!

“We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte,” a spokesperson for the school said, adding:

“We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery in January.”

George, in case you were somehow not aware, is currently enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea in London.

Kate Middleton: Baby Bump-Shamed By World’s Worst People

As you’ve likely heard, Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child, and earlier this week, the world caught its first glimpse of her baby bump.

That is to day, this was our first glimpse of Kate’s latest bump, as we’ve seen the Duchess in this stage of pregnancy on two prior occasions.

But despite the fact that Kate looks just about the same as she did when she was carrying Prince George and Princess Charlotte, for some reson, the trolls came out in force to offer commentary no one wanted on her latest round of pics.

As we’ve said before (and will likely say many more times, as this seems to happen every time a celebrity gets knocked up), each pregnancy is different and comparing one to another is an exercise in futility.

That said, by any metric, there’s really nothing unusual about Kate’s appearance here.

But don’t tell that to the vile basement-dwelling haters who seized the opportunity to tear Kate down for having the gall to be pregnant in public.

Most of the comments on Kate’s photos were merely horrific in a passive-aggressive way (“I can’t believe she’s prego, she looks too thin”).

But some crossed the line into truly montorus territory, in the way that we’ve come to expect from the internet’s very worst people.

(The commenter who described Kate as “an emaciated, severely malnourished anorexic” should be eligible for some kind of prize for awfulness.)

Of course, the situation is made so much worse by the fact that Kate is recovering from severe morning sickness, and this is the first royal engagement of her pregnancy.

Nothing like stepping out in public for the first time in a long time, only to have a bunch of strangers malign your appearance.

Of course, there were some complimentary comments, as well, but even those serve as a reminder that people should probably just refrain from offering their two cents on the bodies of pregnant strangers.

“She is further along than me in pregnancy and she looks stunning and I’m over here looking like a cow,” wrote one commenter

“Doesn’t even look pregnant. Ugh why is she so perfect?” remarked another.

Why should Kate’s appearance make anyone feel worse about their own?

And why would being pregnant negate her perfection?

To their credit, these commenters meant well, but their remarks are still a little strange.

Maybe we should all just stop making observations about one another’s physiques and get back to shaming each other’s fashion choices.

That’s what the internet was meant for!
